April 2024
This April, venues where we filmed and photographed weddings included:
Friern Manor, Lower Dunton Rd, Dunton, Brentwood CM13 3SL.
Amadeus, 50 Shirland Road, London W9 2JA.
The Harbour Hotel, Richmond Hill, Richmond TW10 6RP
The Chelsea Old Town Hall, London SW3 5EE
Horsley Towers, East Horsley KT24 6DU
The Royal Berkshire Hotel, London Road, Sunninghill, Ascot SL5 0PP
Wotton House, Guildford Road, Wotton, Dorking RH5 6HS
Crondon Park, Stock, Chelmsford CM4 9DP
Although it was an unusually cold April, there were still plenty of bright, sunny days for our wedding couples to enjoy!

The Chelsea Old Town Hall has always been a favourite of ours. Such a cool place to get married! If you’re planning to get married there, bear in mind Markham Street as a destination for some of your couple photos. It’s a quaint, colourful street - and very romantic!
One of the benefits of having your wedding at The Harbour Hotel in Richmond, is that just over the road there is the stunning viewpoint from the top of Richmond Hill where you can have your wedding photographs taken. It really is so beautiful!
Wotton House, near Dorking, has one of the finest wedding ceremony rooms we’ve ever seen. We’ve filmed and photographed many weddings there, and the incredible ceremony room never loses its magic! Then the grounds of this venue provide a magnificent back-drop for wedding days. Well worth considering for your wedding.

We met a guy called Aaron, at one of our weddings in April, who's an amazing event illustrator. It takes him no time at all to come up with his beautiful ink and water colour creations of the bride & groom and guests throughout the day. Really stunning work! (Instagram: @eventillustrator).

Here are two questions we were asked at weddings in April that we think you might find interesting?…
"Why do you use two video cameras to film a wedding?"
During a wedding ceremony we can film the groom saying his vows to the bride - and the bride saying her vows to the groom - plus, we can also simultaneously film each of their reactions to what the other is saying. So in post-production (when we edit the footage), we can for example cut to the bride’s reactions at certain points during the groom’s wedding vows. This really makes the footage so compelling. We also use two video cameras during the wedding speeches for the same reason. It allows us to simultaneously film the reactions of others to what the speechmakers are saying.
By having two video cameras filming simultaneously, we have immediate back-up in the unlikely event of technical failure with one of the video cameras. Crucial!
“We're getting married soon and thinking about asking a friend to video our wedding. What do you think?"
This is a question we hear quite a lot - and totally understand the rationale about saving money. But believe us when we say, filming a wedding well takes a lot of skill and experience. We know friends will do their very best to film a wedding, but over several hours not only will they find it extremely tiring, but as they might not be used to the itinerary (and especially after a few drinks!) they might miss something important. A professional wedding film maker will also have zoom lenses on their video cameras enabling them to quickly capture moments that might be happening in the distance. This is something that might be missed by an inexperienced, wedding filming friend?

We’re looking forward to filming and photographing lots of weddings in May. Fingers-crossed we’ve seen the last of that cold weather?!
We update our blog monthly. So please check back around the end of May for our latest update!
